May - My Paper Pumpkin

There is nothing quite as 'happy' as opening your mailbox to find a super sassy bright red box waiting for you!  I can feel my adrenaline kicking in and I can't wait to get in the house to open my kit!  but then... I wonder if I should wait a few minutes and extend my suspense and excitement... It's kinda crazy, but it's FUN!
See, you just never know what this little My Paper Pumpkin box of happiness is gonna contain.  For the last couple of month, it's been cards. The sentiments have been terrific (great fonts, sassy little phrases that make the stamps/sentiments out of the ordinary).  I love getting the little 1x1 stampin' spots.  They're cute and handy.  Perfect for taking my kit on the go with me so I can pull together a couple of quick cards while I am waiting for the kids to get done with one of their many activities.  Simply said... I LOVE the MY PAPER PUMPKIN ADVENTURE!!

When this month's kit arrived and I open the box, I was so excited to see a mini album!  This is perfect for me.  I admire my scrapbooking friends and their commitment to creating fabulous keepsakes for their peeps.  But I'm just not very good at it.  I get overwhelmed by big pages and can never decide what should go on them.  But this little album is perfect - it's 'the nuts!' Check it out:
One pic per page... awesome background embellishments... even little jump rings to hold the pages together!

And here's another cool things about My Paper Pumpkin... You can use the kit in any fashion that YOU want!  Not crazy about the album?  No sweat - make cards! Here are a few ideas to borrow:
Fun, easy and quick --- You've gotta love it! Check out my Paper Pumpkin Ideas Pinterest Page

Circles with the Essential Paper Pack - 'How To'!

Who thought a bunch of circles would turn out to look so sassy?  You've got to check out the way in which Melody, one of Stampin' Up!s concept artists brought his card to life.  The key component?
The Essential Paper Piercing Pack! The pack comes with 3 'templates', I guess you can call them for only $7.95.  It's a total steal and huge bag for your buck as several of the shapes coordinate with punches and the straight lines, scallops and circles offer the opportunity to really do a lot to jazz up your card designs.

Here's how Melody created the fabulous perfect circle design on the card featured above.

1. Draw a line down the center of your cardstock with a pencil, then line up the holes at the tips of the scallop along the line and pierce the scallop.

 2. Rotate your paper 180 degrees and line up the scallop on the template with the pierced scallop on your paper. Pierce the scallop to complete the circles.

 3. Line up the pierced holes with the template as shown above and pierce the scallop to start the next row of circles. Rotate your paper 180 degrees again and line up the template as shown in step 2. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you’ve filled the entire piece of cardstock with pierced circles.

4. VOILA!! Your cardstock should look like this when you’re done. Erase your pencil line and attach it to a card base; embellish your project as desired.

Check out the Essential paper Piercing Pack and tons of additional goodies in my online store!

The perfect flower bunch - Bloomin' Bouquet Kit!

Check out this new flower kit! The Bloomin' Bouquet Kit is a sweet option for having a handy craft kit for the summer months and those potentially rainy days.

There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet - find something cute that you've got on hand to finish off the presentation.

The kit actually contains a "baker's dozen" so you can add an extra bloom to your bouquet or as a sweet embellishment to a gift tag, bag or card.
Item 134542 $12.95

The Bloomin' Bouquet Kit includes:

Color Refresh Announced!

Here are the color families broken down at a glance so you can see what's fitting where.

Here's a snap shot of what's retiring...

Here's what you need to know!
  1. The 'Retiring Colors' may be ordered now and will be available only while supplies last.
  2. PLEASE order your re-inkers, card stock and color appropriate accessories (ribbon) before they are gone!
  3. The Reasoning behind the Color Refresh...
Q: Why are colors being discontinued?
A: We retired colors based on sales history and focus group feedback. We also looked at our overall color offering and determined what colors were not working with others. We sent out surveys, looked at trends, and determined what colors are out of date, etc.

Q: Why have some of the carryover colors changed collections?
A: With the changes, we found that a few colors fit better in a different collection. We also organized our colors to be more complementary within each collection.

NEW - This and That!

I love this idea a million times over again!  I love me some paper, that's for sure, but I'm not a very good traditional scrapbooker.  My designs don't seem to flow as nicely as I'd like and if feels just a little bit formal for me.

Since I was  young girl, I've always liked the creative hap-hazard sassiness of collages or unceremoniously collecting clips from magazines or old card fronts that 'speak to me'.  I wasn't really sure what I was doing (!!!), I just knew that I liked to collect my thoughts from that moment in time and put them in a book, on a book, on my mirror, in my locker or on bulletin board.  It was my thing!

Now - I found my adult version of being able to do that! This and That is a cool new line from Stampin' Up! that features casual and off the cuff stickers, a fun journal with pages that beg to be filled, a date stamp (woo hoo!) and more.  This is an unique opportunity to capture your life as it is right now while you're in the thick of it!

Get a sneak peek into the 2013-2014 annual catalog with the This and That product line that lets you capture it all on-the-go.

WAYS TO USE THIS & THAT
  • At the kid's game or favorite activity? Jot down the off the wall fun things they're saying. Leaving the hairdresser? Tuck your next appointment card right in with some washi tape. Having a girls' day at lunch and the movies? Stash the tickets right there and have each friend write her favorite part of the day. The possibilities are endless, and the goal is perfect imperfection.
  • This and That is great when you use all the products together, but each product is great on its own too! The Designer Series Paper is great for cards, scrapbooking and projects and the rotary date stamp is so fun! Plus, the other embellishments ROCK!

Now through April 30th only, save 15% off when you purchase the Epic Day This and That Bundle.

A Pinwheel Birthday makes the perfect KISS Card!

Check out this sweet KISS Card (Keep It Simple, Sister!)
A KISS card uses only a few supplies to you can make oodles of the same design in a very short time or one smashing beauty of a card in a snap!

I'm diggin' the Pinwheel Sizzlet.  She's cute and adds a serious wallop of fun while the rest of your card remains rather simple. Two quick design notes for the little pinwheels:
  1. I've also found great success when using the silver mini brads for the center of the pinwheel.
  2. Add a mini glue dot in the center of the pinwheel and then fold the 4 corners inward.  The glue dot makes things stick a little bit easier. You can then navigate the brad through the center hole that the sizzlet makes for you.
Here's your Supply List for this exclusive Stampin' Up! design:
Stamps
Essentials*
Paper
• Island Indigo Cardstock, Tea for Two Designer Paper* & Watercolor Paper
Ink
• Island Indigo Classic Ink & Gold Glow Smooch Spritz (notice the gold spritzing on the card)

I've been prepping for my All Dressed Up Combo Card Class all day today.  I love the components of the set and am quickly discovering that the sky is the limit!  I was so excited to try a little of this and a little of that, that I didn't get nearly as far as I wanted :)

I posted a few shots periodically through the day on my Facebook Page.  Take a minute to click over and check it out.

Here are two versions of the same fashionable card.  A 'Before' Dazzling Diamonds and 2-Way Glue Pen and an 'After'.  I'm not sure that we can go wrong!
