Island Indigo Gets 'Framed!'

Island Indigo is one of the snazzy new 2011-13 In Colors and I think she's beautiful!  A unique blue-ish/ green hue that is one of a kind.  I couldn't wait to try using Island Indigo but had an equal need to try the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, called Designer Frames.  So I got myself down to work and started to play!

The flash on my camera makes the hue look a bitdifferent than it is in person. Take a gander at this Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon for a better look-see...

The folders are a tad bit smaller than the embossing folders that SU! carries and makes for easy layering. 

Instead of layering while card stock on top of the Island Indigo (as shown above), I decided to take my hobby knife and simply cut out the center of the frame.  It was easy! 

I personally love the Island Indigo against the Whisper White for a clean crisp look. The 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon has sublte flecks of white in it, so the contrast worked perfectly.

Featuring the Work of Four Incredible Women!

I hope that I say this often enough, because I KNOW that I think it all of the time...  I love my little business and love to share what I do and what I've learned.  Being creative makes me happy and making anything for someone special makes me happy.  However, above all, the friendships that I have been lucky enough to cultivate through my love of stamping, creating and sharing is quite simply... 'The Bee's Knees!!'

Beautiful bright colors are complimented by the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder & the Top Note Bigz Die.  Sale-A-Bration buttons add some pretty to the sweet girls in 'The Nicest Things' stamp set! Gail used her Brights Stampin' Markers to bring these lovely ladies to life! 

Emma S. does some Two-Steppin' for her mama!

My photography skills are awful (I'm so sorry, Em) and don't give this card the 'props' that it deserves.  Emma uses the The 2010-2011 In Colors for the two Step Stampin' process in her sweet card using the 'Awash with Flowers' stamp set.  The beautiful Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz and Peach Parfait flowers are adorned with tiny pearls. Love it!

Erika F. takes the cake!

This card makes me so happy, as does the wonderful woman who made it.
Erika makes it look so easy and has just started making cards as a New Year goal.
I want to yell, "You Go Girl!" every time I see one of her creations! 

A birthday card for her niece is sweetly done using classic layers and beautiful Stampin' Write markers (maybe blender pens too?)

KISS: Creative Elements in Calypso Coral

One of my favorite sets from the new Idea Book & Catalog is wonderfully called 'Creative Elements'.  There are countless things that can be done with this one stamp set... borders, frames, background artwork and a beautiful sentiment that reads, "Treat yourself like your own best company."  How simply delightful is that!

I wanted to share this beautiful set and one of the new 'In Colors' with you, but in a capacity that was quick and what I like to call, 'KISS' or 'Keep It Simple Sister!'

Check out the supplies that I used... Pretty basic!

Card Stock: Whisper White & Calypso Coral
Stamp Set: Creative Elements
Classic Ink: Calypso Coral
Important Extras: Clear Block "E", Bone folder, SNAIL adhesive, Hemp Twine

Texture Tip - You may notice the frayed or rough edges on the white card stock where the pretty stamps are.  So easy!  Simply take your finger nail and 'scratch' the card stock until you reach the effect that you like.  If you can't stand the feel on your nails (!) use a Stampin' Up! sanding block . 
That will also work beautifully for you.

Savvy Savings Tip: Card Stock - The featured card is 3" x 6". This sizing allows you to use 12"x12" paper and divide it into quarters. You can really make your card stock go the mile while using this size! Click here for a visual from a previous post.
